Dhadi Daya singh Dilbar
Dhadhi Daya Singh Dilbar was one of the renowned dhadi's ever in sikh history. Throughout the course of his 76 year life, Dhadi Daya Singh Dilbar had done immense seva of the Khalsa Panth through recitation of Dhadhi vaars and writing of many books. He was honored with the award of "Shiromani Dhadhi" by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in 1979 and by "Punjab Bhasha Vibhag "in 1994. Besides educating Sikhs about their history and Gurmat through dhadhi vaars and books, Dhahi Daya Singh Dilbar had also taken part in many Panthic struggles. He was jailed during the Punjabi Suba Morcha and then during the state of emergency in Punjab. He was kept in the Burail Jail for over 3 years. Dhadhi Daya Singh Dilbar had written over a dozen of books which include the famous 'Dilbar Sangeet', 'Dilbar Tarane', 'Dilbar Parsang', 'Dilbar Dunea', 'Gaunda Punjab' and 'Chandi Kharkegi'. Bhai Sahib had also traveled to England, Canada and the United States for the parchar of the Khalsa Panth.Awards 1) 1975 - "Gold Medal" from Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee 2) 1975 - "Shiromani Dhadi Title" from Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee 3) 1977 - Honour by Punjab Government on occasion of 400 Sathapna Diwan of Shri Harmandir Sahib , Amristsar 4) 1997 -- Honoured by title of "Shiromani Dhadi" by Punjab Bhasha Vibhaag 5) Awarded Kartar Singh Jassowal award by Governor of Punjab Shri Surinder Nath 6) Awarded Rurowal award by Majha Rang Manch -------Other awards such as Bhai Mani Singh award , Bhai Taaru Singh award , Akali Phula singh award , Maharaja Ranjit singh award and many endless award.
